This Saturday, April 21, Masonic historian Jeff Peace will present a talk titled "A Brief History of Speculative Freemasonry" in Ohio City, Ohio (suburban Cleveland) [map]. Did Masonry really derive from Templars, or from King Solomon, or from medieval trade guilds? Or from something else? Where did Masonic symbols come from, and what were their original meanings? What was going on in the "outside world" that led to the formation of Freemasonry? Why was Freemasonry created, and what purpose did it serve, and does it serve today?
This lecture is open to the public. It will be held on Saturday, April 21, in the West Side Masonic Temple at 2831 Franklin Blvd, Ohio City, Ohio, beginning at 5 p.m. A $5.00 donation at the door is appreciated.
