Info Post

When we began this blog a few months ago, I never dreamed there would be so much talk of religion and Jesus here, begat by the Baptist attack on Freemasonry we've talked about here more than enough.

In doing online research about Jesus, I've found some unexpected and unusual sites, like those discussing the Superman-Christ mythos, the saviors that pre-dated Jesus, and more.

Here are two by Christians for Christians that will raise an eyebrow ring or two:
  • Jesus, the Teenage Years, a sales pitch for a poster depicting a teenaged Jesus sporting a tattoo, a shaved head, and a hormone-induced look in his eye for a nearby Bible-babe

  • Believers' Wear Christian Clothing Blog, where you'll find the latest in Christian t-shirt fashion designs, including the one sporting the cool graphic "Jesus Walks His Dog," "Jesus Shaves," and "What WOULDN'T Jesus Do?" showing Jesus piloting a hang-glider.
The United Church of God publishes Good News magazine with articles on pre-Christian Christmas, "God's Guide to Sex," and about the nature of heaven and hell, which asks the burning questions: "If we are to spend all eternity there, you would think God would tell us in the Bible what we should expect once we arrive. Will we spend our time plucking harps? Will we sit and simply gaze upon God? These are both popular concepts of heaven, but most people can't imagine doing either for eternity. Eternity is, after all, a long time!"

The Episcopalian website The Witness says that Jesus's first miracle, that of turning water into wine, is evidence of His Divine Sense of Humor, that "the first miracle of Jesus is a huge joke, and one that with God we are meant to enjoy." As an added chuckle, the site makes light of the Baptist tendency to call Episcopalians "Whiskeypalians."

And at the Terra Meditations website, regular messages claiming to be from "Your Lord and Savior, the One you call Jesus" through His scribe are posted.
